Freedom travel insurance policies include a host of COVID-19 related cover benefits as standard, including emergency medical expenses and cancellation cover if you receive a positive test prior to departure. View our Policy Wording for full terms and conditions.

Before your trip:

  • Cancellation if you receive a positive COVID-19 test within 14 days of the start of your trip or if you are hospitalised due to COVID-19 within 28 days of travel.
  • Cancellation if you or your travelling companion are denied boarding by the transport operator following a positive COVID-19 test or temperature reading.

During your trip:

  • Cover for emergency medical expenses whilst abroad including those associated with COVID-19.
  • Curtailment of your trip if you have checked in to your accommodation and then it has to close due to COVID-19.
  • Additional transport and accommodation costs (room only) if this is deemed medically necessary following a COVID-19 diagnosis.

Benefits are applicable to single and annual multi-trip policies. Cover benefits and limitations will vary depending on the cover level selected. View the COVID-19 cover summary document attached to your quote for full cover benefits, limitations, terms and conditions.

There is no cancellation cover if you are unable to travel due to Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advising against all or all but essential travel. Policy cover will be invalid if you travel against the advice of the government (FCDO), any regulatory authority or medical advice.
