If you are a patient that has suffered a heart attack, we understand the importance of covering these conditions and any relating complications, therefore have developed a fully comprehensive policy which does just that!
It’s important to ensure you have declared your heart condition, heart stents and any relating complications or treatment to make sure that you are fully covered if you have a change to your health circumstances. If you were to suffer chest pains whilst on holiday and have declared your previous heart condition, your policy will cover for emergency medical treatment, cancellation or to cut your holiday short if it's in any way related to your declared condition.
We know that many drugs can be prescribed as a precaution following the diagnosis of a heart attack, such as blood pressure, blood thinners or cholesterol but it is important that you inform us of anything that is prescribed and exactly what it is treating or preventing. This will ensure we have all the relevant information in the event of a claim.

It can be advisable to obtain a travel insurance quote prior to booking your trip, as depending on the destination there can be a large variation in premiums. Freedom Insurance specialise in covering pre-existing medical conditions and do not want to penalise travellers for heart conditions that are well managed and under control. It’s important to tell us about your heart condition and any relating treatment, such as anticoagulants, blood pressure or cholesterol medication to ensure you are fully covered in the event of a claim.
Our prices are based on a person’s current state of health at the time of taking out a policy, so if you have in the past had a heart attack, we will tailor a policy that specifically meets your needs, making sure you have the right level of cover for your trip.
Freedom has award winning customer service
You can read reviews from over 1,000 satisfied customers on our Feefo page. We are proud to have received the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service award following five consecutive years of excellent service!
You can apply here online or over the telephone; it’s quick, simple and totally confidential. To provide you with a quote, you’ll need to let us know where you are travelling to, and for how long. Make sure to declare your heart condition, if you have had heart stents and any other pre-existing medical conditions that apply to you and anyone else on the policy.
You will be guided through a medical screening questionnaire, where a series of relevant questions will be asked to assess your health. These questions should be answered accurately and to the best of your knowledge.
You will then be presented with available policy options, which include cover for declared medical conditions as well as cover for cancellation, baggage, personal accident and lots more.
